Who are You

So sometimes with all the of life's busy-ness and crazy-ness we get lost and forget who we are, what we stand for and can loose our true self. I pretty much have these amazing friends named, Zach and Jamie, sometimes when we get together we have pretty deep conversations, we are mature like that. Anyway, one day we were trying to figure out what personality class Jamie was.. you know things like artsy, skater, emo, preppy, that type of thing. Well we were kind of having a hard time. I said Hippie and she wasn't fully into that idea, BUT then i came up with what she really is, are you ready for this....

GREEN SLEEVE: a green sleeve is one who loves the earth, plants, animals, and being unconventional you know- JAMIE.

Jamie's Green Sleeve coimin out.
Green Sleeve..YEA?

you may think this is Hippie, but no it is different, believe me just talk to Jamie for an hour and you will know what i mean. Some are not fully approving of the new class or idea, but i am pretty proud of myself for coming up with it :).

Okay well after this great talk with Jamie and Zach, i started thinking: who am i? What are my real passions, not what i wish my real passions were? I was beginning to think i didn't fit into any category, which sure no one wants to fit into a mold, but i was getting discourgaed thinking i was just some sort of posser in everything i did. And then it came to me, don't worry i know you are all gonna be shocked by this one, i am a...

SURFER GIRL/ BEACH BUM: Yes i am one who loves the beach,
my favorite brand/style of clothing is Roxy,  the one piece of clothing i would stay in forever if i could would be my swimming suit, i love the air-dry hair look oh and no make-up/natural, and even though the waves make me motion sick that does not take my love for the beach and sun away. So Yes i have found who i am. Why i was born and raised in Utah continues to be my biggest question in life. So i love pictures, so i am going to share some of my favorite pictures that capture my surfer girl/beach bum-ness..enjoy:

Yes, my room.should have given away my type..but like i said sometimes you get lost and forget.

This Cartwheel represents my excitement of being on the beach

Healthy Brain Food

Alright, so all you probably know that sometimes I can be a real health freak and other times I could care less if it is "bad" for me. Well today, i am determined to be a health freak :).  While i was sitting outside reading, because it is AMAZING weather right now, after i read Alma 34 of course..which is my favorite chapter for now...I read an article from LDS Living titled Boost Your Brainpower

Basically, as you can probably tell from the title, the article talks about different studies on what we can do and eat to keep our brains healthy along with postponing symptoms of memory illnesses. This article is really interesting to me because i mean, yes, it should be common sense to keep our minds and body's healthy we need to eat right, participate in activities, and exercise: i feel that these days we get so caught up in ya know technology and eating crap we kinda "fry" our brains.  But the main thing i enjoyed about this article is the fact that it listed off things we can do or eat to keep our brains healthy.

So you want a healthy brain? Try some of these things:
  • Participate in 11 or more activities per week such as (reading books and magazines, writing, doing crossword puzzles, playing board or card games, participating in group discussions, or playing music, oh and can i add art projects :) ) I mean how hard can that be, it's an average of 2 activities a day give or take..i mean i am even writing now :).
  • Participate in aerobic activity..to keep you in shape. (it is really fun :))
  • Participate in Social interactions ( i know sometimes this is hard..haha)
  • Eat foods with Antioxidants (ex. berries, apples, vegetables, or even drinking fruit juices)
  • Eat Brain foods, some of which are: blueberries, spinach (YUM), broccoli, potatoes, avocados, almonds, eggs, tomatoes, bananas, and cherries.(maybe we could add some of these to our favorite foods lists)
So there it is, a few simple steps to follow and you and I can be on our way to a healthier brain ). This article was kind of inspiring to me. And i can't wait to follow the steps to to a healthier brain.

WOW

Can you believe it is December already?! Where did November go? This semester is almost over, and I am SO excited to be done with school and be with my family and visit Amy in good old West Virginia. But The other day I was thinking where have i gone this semester...have i made any new friends, well guess what dawned on me....I have been holding on to the past and not moving forward. Yes, of course I can still be friends with the friends who have graduated and gotten married, but i need to grow where i have been planted.

I was reading in Alma 60 and this part of a verse hit me "..for behold, ye yourself s know that ye have been appointed to gather together men" This scripture helped me realize i have been focusing too much on me and the past and i need to look forward to the future and reach out to the new people around me. Doing this will make me so much more happier! And i want to do some sort of Christmas volunteer work!

Anyway with December here and November gone, i want to list off a couple of things i am grateful for in my life and so blessed to have:
